Sining Tao is a PhD student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she studies multilingual learners’ language and literacy development across diverse educational settings. She is particularly interested in practice-embedded research that (1) examines language and literacy development in multilingual learners, especially those with difficulties; (2) explores how students, parents, and educators co-construct meaning through discourse in classroom and home-based settings; and (3) designs and implements interventions that leverage science-backed strategies and emerging technologies. Sining holds a master’s degree in Human Development and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and Journalism from Fudan University. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as an ESOL teacher for immigrant adult learners and as a research assistant on multiple projects related to second language acquisition, literacy interventions, and academic language development.
